Your dog is on the guest list too

Grosvenor and Harewood each welcome one well-behaved dog by prior arrangement - with private walled courtyard gardens, fourteen acres of parkland next door, and a hose for muddy paws.

“We are dog lovers ourselves - there's a Labrador at the lodge - so we know exactly what a good holiday with a dog needs.”
Nicky, your host

The house rules

A few kindnesses we ask of every dog

Nothing unusual - just the things that keep the cottages lovely for the next guest, and the next dog.

  • Please keep your dog off the sofas, chairs and beds

  • On a lead in the main courtyard and walled garden, please

  • Poo bags are at the park gate; the disposal bin is in the outhouse

  • There's a hose for muddy paws after a good walk

  • Please leave the garden free of any doggy mess

  • If your dog frets when left alone, please take them along on long days out

Out and about

Everything a dog needs nearby

Walks from the door

Local walks start from the gate - through rolling parkland and on into the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean, with riverside, woodland and hill routes for every kind of dog. Many local pubs and castles welcome dogs too.

Forgot the kibble?

Lea Stores in the village delivers, and Creature Comforts, Wynnstay Farm Products, Raw Dog and Baileys are all nearby for food and supplies.

If they need a vet

Chase Vets in Hildersley offers 24-hour emergency cover, with Vine Tree Vets in Ross-on-Wye as a second option - both a short drive from the lodge.

Pack the lead. We'll see you both soon.
